Blaine Breadner passed away peacefully in the presence of family on August 30, 2024.
Blaine was born in Tisdale, SK on March 23, 1939 to William and Marguerite (McIntyre) Breadner. He grew up on the family farm at Armley along with older sister Wilda, and younger brother Jim, close to many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Throughout his life, family was incredibly important to Blaine.
On August 25, 1962, Blaine married Irene Lees — they were blessed to recently celebrate 62 years of marriage. They moved to Prince Albert in 1972, where they raised their daughters. Blaine worked as a water plant operator at Weyerhauser Canada until his retirement in 1999. Blaine and Irene loved to explore, driving to many destinations across western Canada and the US. He loved hockey, baseball (go Jays!), golf, and table tennis. Blaine also loved gardening, photography, Sudoku, but most of all, spending time with those he loved. Kind, caring, and always positive, Blaine had a wonderful sense of humor and a quick wit. He loved to laugh and had a smile that could light up a room.
Blaine is lovingly remembered by his loving wife, Irene; his daughters Jodie (Gord Haines) and Janice; brother Jim (Kathy); in-laws Pat and Dennis Lucki; nephews and neices Jeff, Michelle, Erin, Laura, Carol, and Darryl; and numerous friends and relatives. He was predeceased by his parents, William and Marguerite; his sister Wilda, Irene’s parents Stand and Marg Lees; and other loved relatives and friends.
The family would like to thank Dr. Dale Ardell whose skill and compassionate care helped Blaine to have many quality years. Also, our thanks to the many staff at Points West and from Home Care, and more recently, the staff at Mont St. Joseph Home who supported Blaine — your kindness and care was most appreciated.
Blaine has been laid to rest in Prince Albert Memorial Gardens, Garden of Christus.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Blaine may be made to the Heart and Stroke Fund or to Mont. St. Joseph Foundation.
